Covid-19 Statement from the practice

From 19th July we will see the removal of almost all of the covid-19 restrictions.  We have discussed patient and staff safety and our infection control measures in practice and taking into account the continued increase in covid cases Rydings Hall Surgery will retain, for some time yet, the infection prevention and control measures that have been in place since the start of the covid pandemic.  This does have an impact on service delivery due to the additional time required for this. It is the right thing to continue to work in this way.

Our first line appointment model will continue to be a telephone/video consultation, on the day with some pre-bookable, with an appropriate clinician.  The clinician will determine and advise the patient if a further face to face appointment is required.  Please do not attend the practice if you have covid symptoms, are awaiting the results of a covid test or have been in close contact with someone who is covid positive.

The clinicians and staff at the practice will continue to keep you safe by wearing the appropriate PPE for the foreseeable.

We ask that all patients over the age of 12 attending the practice for information or an appointment wear a mask whilst in the surgery.

Your health records contain a type of data called confidential patient information. This data can be used to help with research and planning.  You can choose to stop your confidential patient information being used for research and planning. You can also make a choice for someone else like your children under the age of 13.  NHS Digital will never sell your data.  There are strict rules about how NHS can use your data. It's only shared securely and safely.  Shared data helps the NHS. It has been used to find the first treatment for coronavirus and for vaccine research.

If you're happy with your confidential patient information being used for research and planning you do not need to do anything.

As you will be aware, the government has now announced that anyone over 70 who has not yet been vaccinated and would like to be should contact the NHS to arrange an appointment.

How to access your COVID-19 vaccination status through the NHS App.

You can access your COVID-19 vaccination status through the free NHS App from 17 May. You can access the app through mobile devices such as a smartphone or tablet. Proof of your COVID-19 vaccination status will be shown within the NHS App. We recommend that you register with the app before booking international travel.

By calling 119.

If you do not have access to a smartphone and know that the country you are travelling to require COVID-19 vaccination status, you can call the NHS helpline on 119 (from 17 May) and ask for a letter to be posted to you. This must be at least 5 working days after you’ve completed your course of the vaccine. We expect the letter to take up to 5 working days to reach you.

The letter will be sent automatically to the address registered with your GP. The 119 call handler you speak to will not be able to see your address to check this with you. If you’ve recently moved house, make sure you’ve given your new address to your GP practice before calling 119.

Please don't contact your GP surgery about your COVID-19 vaccination status. GPs cannot provide letters showing your COVID-19 vaccination status.
